“It’s not just about creating, it’s about stretching your imagination so far beyond what is that you conjure a reality that disrupts harmful ideologies. The goal is to take up space and use my work as a tool to change lives for the greater good.”

Kamille Glenn is a multidisciplinary designer born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her design focus includes architecture, interior, and furniture design with solutions spanning all maker disciplines of the built environment. During her tenure as an Associate at Rockwell Group, she designed for the top operators and developers in hospitality globally such as Nobu, Marina Bay Sands, Vidanta, Tao Group and more.

These experiences helped shape her creative ethos: celebratory opportunities of culture and community through design. As a response to the lack of diverse social impact noticed as a full time designer, she founded dsgnrs.wrkshp (pronounced designer’s workshop) in 2019. The collective platform serves as a disruptor, shifting the landscape of design by centering makers of the African diaspora — their voices, contributions, and connection through education and healing. Kamille reinforces this mission via programming, productions, and design services that challenges design understanding and thinking for community. Collective impact includes an educational partnership with Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian, curated events for NYCxDESIGN, community editorial features, and engagement.

After six years of sharing design through the lens of dsgnrs.wrkshp via consulting, and educating, Kamille expanded her focus to merge her passion and practice. Introducing dsgnrs.studio a multidisciplinary think tank specializing in storytelling, branding, design, creative direction, and production. The studio was created as means to further her mission of high quality design accessibility to small business owners and the general public while celebrating the many incredible makers, craftsmen, and artists of the dsgnrs.wrkshp network. Her inaugural project on behalf of Marcus Samuelsson Restaurant Group opened in June 2025. Kamille received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology and looks towards her debut in design education for the upcoming school semester.

DEATH-DESIGN-DATA

Cecilia Casabona, Ginevra Petrozzi, 2024

DEATH-DESIGN-DATA investigates the experience of death and grief in the digital era - one that is saturated with information yet finds itself devoid of rituality - and how art and design could play a role in reconciling humans with death. Ten contemporary artists and designers explore how different creative practices are able to produce new rituals in relation with death and loss and how this affects us as humans. The experiences, memories and invocations shared on these pages invite us to reconsider our mortality, and the vessels that we use to navigate life and death.
